The Hobart Language Day is an annual celebration of language diversity in Hobart, Tasmania with songs, dances, poetry readings, activities for children, calligraphy and more. The Hobart Language Day has been running since 2015.
To coincide with World Book Day, the Catalonian festival of San Jordi, Madrid's Book Day, the Language Day in Latin America and the English Language Day, all of which occur on the 23rd of April, a special event will occur in Tasmania, namely, the Language Day Festival.
The idea behind this event is to celebrate the languages spoken in Tasmania, language diversity, literature in various languages and books in general.

Why I Settled in Tasmania is a radio series of life stories from members of the Hazara, Karen, Nepalese, Oromo & South Sudan/Uganda communities, who share their experiences as refugees, their process of adjustment to Tasmania and why they decided to stay here when many people from their communities have moved interstate.
